In our Library, Year 5 Primary School pupils from Crook Primary have been taking part in the King James Book Awards, which is part of our Primary School Education Challenge Zone.

Two of our Sixth Form RE students, Amelia C and Rebecca H, have taken part in the ‘Lessons from Auschwitz’ project as part of their studies.

Four members of The Young Americans Performing Arts Group, accompanied by their Tour Manager, have travelled all the way from the USA to visit King James to meet the staff and students they will be working with in February.

A grand total of 646 visitors joined us this year at our annual Year 6 Open Evening event this month. As is usual, families were able to take a tour, enjoy a wide variety of fun learning activities in school, and meet our staff and students.

Students and staff at King James I Academy have raised £324.13 for Macmillan Cancer Support at their annual World’s Biggest Coffee Morning event.

Sixth Form Media Studies students have returned from a week-long trip to Malta where they gathered extensive footage for a series of travel documentaries as part of their coursework. They filmed in various locations across the island and are now in the process of editing their footage in the studio.

Over 80 of our new starters joined us at our Transition Summer School this year. Following two days in school, 61 students then enjoyed a free, three-day adventure holiday at Winmarleigh Hall Adventure Centre in Lancashire.
