The Awards, which have been dubbed the ‘Oscars of education’, is a prestigious awards programme which celebrates the best of education across the UK. It has now been revealed that King James I Academy has been shortlisted in the category of Staff Wellbeing School of the year.

SFX zombie makeup workshop for Media students

March 2024

Creative Media students in Years 10, 11 and 12 have been treated to an unusual workshop in SFX makeup. Local makeup artist, Amy Algar visited the Academy to deliver a special effects workshop and demonstration, designed to educate media students on how to use liquid latex to create zombie prosthetics and props for filmmaking and photography projects.
