Three of our Sixth Form Media students have been collaborating on a range of projects featuring Year 13 student, Sam H transformed into a modern interpretation of iconic comic book villain, The Joker!

Brooke M, who aspires to a career as a special effects make-up artist in TV and film, completed this amazing transformation on Sam and photographed the various stages to demonstrate her skills in her personal online portfolio; this is an essential way to showcase creative work for anyone working in the media industry and part of her current unit of study in Media. Sam had no problem channelling his inner Joker for a photoshoot for Year 12 student Liam M, who is producing a magazine spread featuring the top 5 iconic super villains; Liam has already written the article and will now turn his attention to creating the page layout. Sam then went on to shoot footage for his own music video production for the classic Jimmy Durante song, ‘Smile’; he will now focus on editing the footage and adding special effects to create a finished product.

The experience has now given our students lots of ideas for their Fictional Film Production unit in the next academic year and they are looking forward to developing and producing a short film; obviously horror films have become the genre of choice!
