Year 10 students at Auckland Castle.

GCSE Photography students in Years 10 and 11 have enjoyed their first educational learning experience since the restrictions were lifted; students visited High Force and Auckland Castle to shoot photographs for their coursework.

The department is known for the wide variety of opportunities it provides for students to learn outside of the classroom, both in the UK and in Europe. The ban on trips imposed by the Department for Education meant that our teachers have had to find new and innovative ways to engage creative students and promote creativity in their coursework within the confines of King James.

After 18 months of being unable to organise educational visits, it was great to be out and about again and students returned with a host of fantastic images which they will now edit in the classroom. We hope the freedom continues.
