Key Stage 3 students in Years 7, 8 and 9 have been treated to a captivating live performance by the up-and-coming boyband 'Absnt Mind', complemented by a thought-provoking discussion on mental health, body image and cyber bullying.
With five members, the band features serious vocals and song-writing talent, not to mention the ability to play multiple instruments. The band name itself comes from the boys, who all feel that there is so much pressure to be a certain way in person and online, and to follow a certain path. They wanted to make a statement and to reclaim the idea of living in the moment.
Armed with a repertoire of original, contemporary global pop songs and a selection of covers inspired by their musical influences, they performed a live set to students before taking part in an open discussion about their personal experiences in secondary school designed to promote meaningful conversation.
