Our World Book Day celebration this year was a resounding success, with staff and students alike turning out in force dressed as their favourite book characters.

At King James, we go above and beyond to prevent bullying from happening. Our work to prevent bullying has led to us recently achieving accreditation from the BIG Award.

Year 12 Media Studies students have taken part in a fun team building activity at ‘Cluedini’ Escape Rooms in Darlington. In three teams of five, students worked together to solve problems in an attempt to escape their room in 60 minutes or less; only one team succeeded.

Media students have enjoyed a class social event at Uno Momento Italian restaurant in Darlington on the last day of half term.

In our Thrive Alive initiative, students enjoy a day of creative learning experiences in all subjects which do not involve traditional writing.

As part of our Chinese New Year celebrations, our EDI Ambassadors have taken part in a visit to the Oriental museum in Durham.

Our PE Department has launched a new extra-curricular Darts Academy for students in all year groups to develop skills and compete in this popular sport.

Across all lessons, students are working on a wide range of revision strategies to prepare for mock exams and controlled assessments, which are currently underway for students in Years 10 and 11.
