Media students have enjoyed a class social event at Uno Momento Italian restaurant in Darlington on the last day of half term.

The event was designed to give students the opportunity to boost their confidence and improve social skills in a formal environment that was new to some of the group. Although most students had eaten out before, they had not eaten at an authentic Italian restaurant, and Uno Momento has a long-standing reputation for serving excellent food. Students enjoyed a two-course lunch and were certainly not disappointed.

Thanks to a successful bid for funding from ‘The Key+’ charity worth £250, the cost of the meal, including drinks, was covered for all 15 members of the class. This funding was obtained by a team of four Media students called The Gourmet Gurus, who successfully planned, budgeted and delivered a presentation to a panel of judges. This was Stage 1 of the project and the team are now looking forward to progressing on to Stage 2, where they can bid for £500!
