Year 9s enjoyed the day at South Shields.

Each year, during the final week of term at King James, we treat students to Activity Day, where Heads of Year organise a variety of fun activities for students in their year group.

This year, Year 7 students travelled to Lightwater Valley Adventure Park in Yorkshire, where they enjoyed an action-packed day of rides, from the more sedate Carousel and Express Train to the terrifying Eagle’s Claw and Dragon Drop! They also played mini golf, took on the Treetop Trail and explored the Interactive Arcade, Hall of Mirrors and Discovery Woods.

Year 8 students spent the day at the Metro Centre where they were free to design their own itinerary, from going to the cinema, playing indoor mini-golf, going bowling or visiting the arcades and dodgems, to grabbing lunch at one of the many restaurants and shopping.

Students in Year 9 enjoyed their day in glorious sunshine at South Shields with time spent in the amusement arcades, in South Marine Park and on the rides at Ocean Beach Pleasure Park. They also played a variety of organised games on the beach.

Year 10s visited Flamingo Land in Malton for a high thrills day of theme park rides including Sik, which has ten inversions, Cliff Hanger, which combines multiple launch and drop experiences, and Mumbo Jumbo with its 112° vertical drop!

Students who chose to stay in school enjoyed a range of activities including watching a movie and playing a selection of sports including football on our 4g pitch, and Sixth Form students were also involved with a quiz and hot food laid on for them in the Common Room.
