Each year, Sixth Form students in our Media Department raise money for a charity of their choice by selling 'Christmas Greetings' to students and staff; these are then displayed on the walls of our main corridor. This year however, the money raised was used to buy toys for the Angel Trust Toy Appeal and staff were keen to boost the donation further with additional gifts.

Year 14 Media Studies students are currently working on a range of TV news programmes aimed at children and young people as the target audience.

Students and staff at King James I Academy have raised over £400 for Macmillan Cancer Support by taking part in the World's Biggest Coffee Morning event 2021. This is just one of the many charities that the Academy chooses to support each year.

Despite the challenges of sourcing a work experience opportunity due to Covid-19 restrictions in the workplace, some of our Year 12 students were successful in their search and took part in a week-long work placement in July.

Each year we celebrate the successes of our Sixth Form students as they achieve excellent results and progress onto university, apprenticeship programmes or into the workforce. Despite the many challenges of 2020-21, this year is no exception.
