Elite Football Academy

The Cambridge Technical Extended Diploma in Sport and Physical Activity is 70% internally assessed coursework and 30% external exams.

This can be done as full-time course studied over two years, equivalent to three A-Levels. You can also complete a double award over two years equivalent to two A-levels or a single award over one year equivalent to one A-level. This means that you can study other A-levels of BTECs alongside it.

Unit 1: Body Systems and the Effects of Physical Activity (E).

Unit 2: Sports Coaching and Activity Leadership (I).

Unit 3: Sports Organisation and Development  (E).

Unit 4: Working Safely in Sport, Exercise, Health and Leisure (E).

Unit 5: Performance Analysis of Sport and Exercise (I).

Unit 8: Organisation of Sports Events (I).

Unit 11: Physical Activity for Specific Groups (I).

Unit 17: Sports Injuries and Rehabilitation (I).

Unit 18: Practical Skills in Sport and Physical Activities (I).


Alongside the academic qualifications students will have the opportunity to be involved in the football academy, coaching opportunities and qualifications, physiotherapy experience at Shildon AFC, refereering opportunities, sports media and photography and sport experience and paid work.
