Students have recently taken part in a science engagement project delivered by Durham University Physics department. The activity involved an inflatable planetarium.

Eighteen students in Year 11, who are all studying either Media or Photography, have returned from a week-long educational trip to Malta. The trip was funded for students thanks to a successful application that we made to the UK Turing Scheme last year.

The pop-up Scholastic Book Fair has returned to King James for 2025, giving both students and staff the opportunity to buy a wide range of books from bestsellers and classics to exclusive titles.

Over 150 students from King James I Academy have spent the day at Aycliffe Business Park where they visited businesses from a number of different sectors. Students, who are all in Year 9 and about to select their subject options, were able to tour the premises of each organisation and learn about their products and services from knowledgeable company representatives.

This week, students in Years 7 and 8 have celebrated Valentine's Day with an after school party and fundraising event . All money raised from ticket sales will go towards year group charities.

Year 8 student, Nieve H is celebrating winning first place in the under 12s solo category at the UK Street Dance Challenge, which was held at Alton Towers.

This week, Year 7 pupils were delighted to reunite with their former Headteachers and Teachers at a special event which was organised to let them show off the excellent work they have been doing since joining King James in September.
