The King James I Academy's Year 7 football team endured a challenging League Table match against Ferryhill. Both teams gave their all from the start of the game with King James battling to victory.

The start of the school term is a busy time for the library at King James with an abundance of exciting and encouraging incentives and national events ready to be promoted throughout the autumn term.

This month, students in all year groups have enjoyed the opportunity to explore the university and career opportunities available to them once they have completed their secondary school education.

Award winning professional children's author and animator, Niel Bushnell recently visited King James I Academy in Bishop Auckland for an exclusive meet and greet session at the school's Year 6 Open Evening.

Our annual Year 6 Open Evening Event was a huge success, welcoming around 500 visitors to King James to tour our school and participate in engaging activities inspired by children's literature.

Since the initial launch last academic school year of the "Academy Bank' in conjunction with Darlington Building Society, popularity has gone from strength to strength amongst the students of King James.

Our Sixth Form students and staff have recently raised a fantastic sum of over £200 at a coffee morning in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.

Two Year 11 students have been praised for their involvement in a community project which took place during the summer holiday.

Mr Grieveson was recently delighted to receive an email from a local gentleman who wanted to express his appreciation to three of our students who showed true community spirit and kindness towards his wife following an accident in town.

Today we are celebrating the excellent results which our students' dedication and hard work have helped them to achieve. Well done to all of our Year 11 students, and to their teachers.
