Rewards

At King James I Academy, we believe that recognising and rewarding positive behaviour is essential in helping students feel valued, motivated and proud of their achievements. We work hard to create a calm, respectful and supportive environment where positive choices are noticed and celebrated every day.

Staff regularly use praise and verbal recognition to encourage good behaviour, effort and attitude to learning. Students also receive positive achievement points through Class Charts, which recognise successes both in lessons and around the Academy.

We place great importance on positive communication with parents and carers. When students do well, staff will often share this through Class Charts messages, emails or phone calls so that achievements can be celebrated at home as well as at school.

Students’ achievements are celebrated through regular achievement assemblies, where both academic and pastoral successes are recognised. In addition, students can earn Bronze, Silver and Gold awards each half term, rewarding consistent effort, positive behaviour and engagement with school life.

Students who consistently demonstrate the Academy’s values may also be invited to take part in reward trips, which celebrate positive attitudes and commitment. Outstanding achievements are further recognised at our Annual Academy Prize Evening, a special event that celebrates success across all areas of Academy life.

Alongside these formal rewards, staff also use a range of additional achievement rewards to recognise effort, progress and positive contributions, ensuring that success is celebrated in many different ways.

Through this positive and supportive rewards system, King James I Academy works in partnership with parents and carers to encourage high standards, build confidence and help every student succeed.

Some of our regular rewards include
