At King James I Academy, we have developed an Inspire Curriculum designed to help students make meaningful connections across different areas of learning. A set of key themes underpins this curriculum and is used by teachers within lessons to link knowledge and skills across subject areas.
In addition to this, Key Stage 3 students take part in dedicated Inspire lessons that focus on one key theme at a time, allowing students to deepen their understanding and explore topics in greater depth. These lessons take place during enrichment periods and form an important part of students’ personal development programme.
Inspire lessons have been carefully designed to focus on topics that students may not typically study within the standard curriculum. Students are also given the opportunity to vote on the themes, ensuring high levels of engagement and ownership. Current Inspire project themes include:
