At King James I Academy, we are committed to fostering a culture of Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) across our Academy and within the wider community. We aim to increase understanding and awareness of EDI and the protected characteristics among students, staff, and key stakeholders through targeted activities, workshops, and engagement opportunities.

Our EDI Focus Group sets ambitious goals and drives initiatives that make a meaningful contribution to our action plan, while maintaining a visible and inclusive presence throughout the school. We actively build partnerships with external organizations to enrich learning, share best practice, and promote EDI both locally and regionally. By embedding equality, diversity, and inclusion into all aspects of school life, we empower our students to embrace difference, champion fairness, and make a positive impact in their communities. We also have an active student ambassador group just focusing on EDI in our Academy and surrounding community
