Since the initial launch last academic school year of the "Academy Bank' in conjunction with Darlington Building Society, popularity has gone from strength to strength amongst the students of King James.

Our Sixth Form students and staff have recently raised a fantastic sum of over £200 at a coffee morning in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.

Two Year 11 students have been praised for their involvement in a community project which took place during the summer holiday.

Mr Grieveson was recently delighted to receive an email from a local gentleman who wanted to express his appreciation to three of our students who showed true community spirit and kindness towards his wife following an accident in town.

The Open Pathways programme at King James, in conjunction with Bishop Auckland College, will soon be offering an exciting opportunity for Sixth Form students who are interested in a career in Catering or Hospitality.

Here at King James, we aim to not only encourage our students in their academic studies, but also to develop their social skills and broaden their horizons by offering them opportunities to enjoy new experiences.

Our annual Sports Day took place on the last day of term with British Paralympic Wheelchair Fencer and National Paraclycling Champion, Craig McCann as special guest.
