During the Autumn Term, we launched a whole-school strategy to improve literacy skills by encouraging our students to rediscover reading for pleasure as well as for education. Our library programme, Reading Rewards has proved extremely popular and now our new library is a hub for keen readers.

This month, we celebrated World Book Day with a variety of reading and creative writing projects in school including an exciting writing competition, which was launched in assemblies by Mr Grieveson.

As part of our STEM activities, over 100 students in Key Stage 3 have been considering the vast size of the universe and the Milky Way thanks to a portable planetarium on loan from Durham University.

As part of their BTEC studies, Sixth Form Music student have been collaborating with 11 Media students to produce a music video for a reworked version of the hugely popular Bruno Mars hit, Uptown Funk.
