To celebrate Black History Month, all Key Stage 3 students have participated in an Art lesson inspired by influential black artists throughout history.
Students focus on artworks from Alma Thomas, Basquiat and Deborah E Roberts, learning about each artist and creating artwork in their style.
Throughout October, students will also be exploring black history through their assemblies, with every subject highlighting notable icons from their fields. While black history is woven throughout our curriculum all year round, Black History Month gives us a dedicated opportunity to honour the achievements, contributions, and voices of black people, past and present. It’s a time to reflect, learn and celebrate together.
