Organised by Miss Talbot, 14 of our Year 7 and 8 students have enjoyed a trip to Sunderland University as a reward for their effort and achievement in Computer Science lessons throughout the year.

The school year is not over yet for our current Year 11s, as they delve into our informative Sixth Form Induction Day, to get a taster of what it would be like to study A’ Levels at King James.

Recently, some of our Sixth Form students have gained a recognised qualification in Emergency First Aid in the Workplace, here at King James.

A’ Level Sociology students in Year 12, have been playing the Game of Life in class with their Teacher, Mr Shearer.

Our Year 11 Prom 2023 was a glittering affair, held at Redworth Hall Hotel and enjoyed by students and staff alike.

As an end of year reward, and Geography educational trip, two of our Geography teachers, Mrs Patterson and Mrs Mason, took eight Year 10 students down to London for a fun-filled overnight stay.

As part of the Royal Shakespeare Company’s Associate Schools Program, that is run across Durham and Tyne and Wear, Year 7 students have recently taken part in a contemporary performance of Twelfth Night.

Last term, Year 10 Food & Nutrition students were treated to a special visit from former MasterChef contestant, now successful private chef, Mike Bartley.

A group of 15 Year 8 students have been taking part in a new club, led by Miss Houlahan, as part of our Key Stage 3 enrichment programme.
