Year 7 History students at King James I Academy have taken part in an exciting hands-on lesson about the Roman Empire with a variety of replica helmets and shields to examine.

Members of our weekly Games Club have been learning how to use an airbrush to paint their Warhammer figures as an alternative to hand painting.

A group of ten pupils from St Helen Auckland Primary School have attended a special Outreach session at King James called Mini Medics. The course, which is designed to introduce youngsters to life saving techniques, was delivered by our own Health & Safety Officer, Jonathan Page.

Year 6 pupil, Moses B-P, who attends Hurworth Primary School, is the winner of our Year 6 Open Evening competition. As the winner, he claimed a brand new Lenovo tablet.

Our annual Open Evening was a huge success with hundreds of local families visiting us to tour our facilities and take part in a host of activities.

We have a number of initiatives designed to reward students for good attendance and hard work, but our Grand Attendance Prize is certainly the most popular. Year 10 student, Clarence is our latest worthy winner.

The fantastic amount of hard work put in by King James I Academy Year 11 students leading up to their final GCSE exams in May and June has paid off, with another year of positive results.
