In a lunchtime activity students were encouraged to speak about their passions and the importance of have a voice.

Each year at King James, we organised a number of themed activities to support Children's Mental Health Week; this year events took place from 5th - 11th February.

Activities were led by our excellent Year 10 Mental Health & Wellbeing group, and all were designed to promote the 2024 theme of 'My Voice Matters'. Students across King James took part in a range of both indoor and outdoor activities, all of which encouraged participants to share their views on mental health and wellbeing, alongside their tips for positive thinking and good health. Staff were also on hand to make sure that all of our students knew exactly where to seek help and support if needed.

At King James we have a dedicated team of fully trained Student Support Workers who can help our young people navigate a number of issues which may affect their mental health and wellbeing. Each year group has a specific member of staff that they can contact for help and support, including our Sixth Formers.
