Each year at King James, collecting food items to support local foodbanks, and to help those living in food poverty, is an important Christmas activity.

In the build up to Christmas, staff at the Academy come together to donate items for the North East charity, Feeding Families, with staff making a donation every week at staff meetings. As a result, we were able to donate around 700 items to this worthy cause.

The charity puts together thousands of 21-item food boxes for families who are really struggling to eat and many of these will benefit our local community too.
