Students in all year groups have been treated to a live music performance with up and coming Indie band, The Mercians.

The Leicester-based band are currently touring UK schools to promote their music and raise awareness of mental health issues and the importance of looking after yourself. This is a subject that they feel passionate about, as they have all experienced the negative effects of anxiety and depression at some point in their lives.

Band members spoke about the symptoms of mental health issues and the importance of seeking help through family, friends, teachers and organisations. They then delighted students with performance that combined original music and popular covers.
