Cooking on a theme - Street Food

Year 9 have been learning about international 'Street food' and creating their own recipes in a fun practical challenge in Food and Nutrition.

Students were given a list of ingredients and two weeks to research and design a recipe around the theme, followed by just one hour to cook and present their dish in a practical lesson. As part of the challenge, students had to consider the nutritional value of their dish, the time constraints involved to prepare it and the presentation. Dishes included chicken skewers, tacos, chicken wraps, stir fry and colourful Buddha Bowls with fresh vegetables, tortillas and home-made guacamole.
