Over 40 gift boxes were wrapped and delivered to King James' families.

This year, our Nurture Group Teacher, Miss Thwaites, pictured here in red, organised a particularly important initiative to support children and families in our Academy.

The ‘Winter Warm’ scheme was created to ensure that all students at King James have a warm coat and clothing to see them through the winter months. Miss Thwaites launched the donation scheme in school and on Facebook, with requests for warm coats and clothes to help families struggling to make ends meet, many as a result of the pandemic.

The result was over 40 coats and a huge supply of clothes, shoes and toys, which were all packed into individual gift boxes and wrapped with help from Nurture Group students in Year 9, pictured here. Gift boxes were hand delivered by Miss Thwaites.
