Year 12 Media students have enjoyed a guided tour of Auckland Castle to complete a location recce with a view to using the venue as a potential film location.

In September, students will be working on their first film making project and thanks to our working partnership with the Auckland Project, they will have access to all of the rooms and props inside the castle itself, plus the gardens and Deer Park to use as outdoor locations.They can even utilise the costumes if they wish.

Students were fascinated to hear about the history of the castle and the surprises discovered during the meticulous renovation process, including layers of hand painted wallpaper and a 200 year old hand print found in a hidden alcove!
