Students in Year 10 who are interested in trade careers have visited Bishop Auckland College to take part in taster sessions.

The visit was organised by our Careers Adviser, Miss Goddard as part of our careers programme. All students in Year 10 have a one-to-one interview with Miss Goddard to identify their personal strengths and to discuss their ambitions for the future. Trips and practitioner visits are then planned in direct response to student needs.

In this case, students were able to take part in taster sessions in hair styling, beauty therapy, bricklaying, joinery, vehicle maintenance and computing with the aim of helping them to begin thinking about what they might like to do at the end of Year 11.
