Ten students in Year 9 have taken part in a county-wide Spanish speaking competition. The aim of the project was to put together a presentation to attract Spanish tourists to Bishop Auckland.
Students were put into two teams and were given the opportunity to work with a Durham University student to help them put together their presentation. The competition was held online with the groups speaking in Spanish to a panel of judges from the Auckland Project, Durham University and the International Office at Durham County Council.
Although the groups did not win, they thoroughly enjoyed the experience and felt that they had gained confidence in speaking Spanish to an audience.
