Our PE Department has launched a new extra-curricular Darts Academy for students in all year groups to develop skills and compete in this popular sport.
Once seen as a sport for mature players and spectators, darts has now become hugely popular among younger fans thanks to the success of prodigy, Luke Littler. Luke became the youngest darts world champion in history when he won the Professional Darts Corporation World Championship in 2025 at just 17 years old.
Now, 15 year old Scottish player, Mitchell Lawrie, is following in his footsteps after setting the record for being the youngest player to win at the WDF World Championship in Lakeside when he was just 15 years old.
The Darts Academy is run by Mr Bushby and Mr Spencer. Mr Bushby said, "This sport is one of the few where male and female players of all ages can compete against each other on an even playing field. The club operates every Tuesday from 3.30pm, and all students are welcome to come along and try it for themselves."
