Vision - Issue 42: Autumn 2025

August 2025

Welcome to the latest issue of Vision, our Academy magazine.

It seems that every year at KJI gets busier, but one constant is the outstanding contribution our students make to Academy life and 2024/25 was no exception. Students embraced opportunities both in and out of the classroom, some of which are featured in the following pages, but many more that have been missed due to lack of space!

We have driven international visits for students and hope to continue this in the coming year; and our charity work has progressed to another level this year with students demonstrating their commitment to supporting others by raising thousands of pounds for worthwhile causes.

In the classroom there has been a continued focus on academic success, and an emphasis on developing student vocabulary, raising aspirations and incorporating careers information in lessons. This is clearly having an impact, as record numbers of our Year 13 students have progressed on to University. Once again, GCSE and A’ Level results were strong, and I would like to formally congratulate all of our Year 11 and 13 students for their hard work and excellent outcomes; we wish them well in their next steps.

As one cohort leaves, another one joins us and we are delighted to welcome a record number of Year 7s this year. Our Primary Outreach offer will continue for students in Years 5 and 6 so that they can visit KJI and experience secondary school life, and we look forward to welcoming visitors to Year 6 Open Evening on Wednesday 17th September.

Thank you to all of the parents who have supported us through the year. We look forward to working with you again through this year and beyond.

Best wishes,

Simon Whitehead, Headteacher
