15 members of the RTS (Roots) Drama Group in Years 7-10 have spent the weekend in the seaside town of Morcambe with Miss Howard and Miss Armstrong. The trip was organised to celebrate their hard work and dedication throughout the academic year.

In Morcambe, the group stayed in a nine-bedroom Air B&B home, which provided plenty of space for relaxation, socialising and games, alongside excellent cooking and dining facilities for large parties. Although Miss Howard and Miss Armstrong took responsibility for the cooking, students were more than happy to follow a rota for tidying communal areas and washing up, which united the group and promoted a sense of belonging. They visited a Victorian theatre, explored the beach, made tie-dye socks, played team-building games and watched Mamma Mia together, creating some amazing memories in a weekend full of fun and laughter.

RTS Drama Group operates as an extra-curricular club for young people in Years 7-13 every Monday from 3.30pm-5.00pm. Each week, members take part in drama-themed activities and work together on a production which they perform to a live audience; last year the group performed an excellent murder mystery and this year they will be performing a Christmas musical.
