Following a whole-school campaign, we have delivered an excellent 22 boxes of groceries to Woodhouse Close Community Food Bank to help support local families this Christmas.

Thanks to the generosity of our students and staff, we have filled an amazing 38 boxes for the Rotary Shoebox Scheme, which will be distributed to people in Eastern Europe who live in a world of poverty.

Year 12 Biology students have visited the Centre for Life to experience Gunther Von Hagens' fascinating exhibition, Animals Inside Out as part of their A-Level studies.

Family members of our new Year 7 English Nurture Group have joined us in school for a fun, activity based learning session.

King James is a hive of fundraising activity as Christmas approaches, and both students and staff are keen to help their community in many ways.

As part of their studies, GCSE History students in Year 10 have visited The Workhouse, Courthouse and Prison Museum in Ripon for an in-depth exploration of 18th and 19th century Crime and Punishment conditions.

We have launched a Food Bank Appeal to help support our local community as Christmas approaches. Donations will be delivered to the Food Bank at Woodhouse Close Church and Community Centre, which directly supports residents in Bishop Auckland and the surrounding villages.

Students in Year 7 have been taking part in an exciting STEM event in school thanks to a visit from The Smallpiece Trust.

Our staff and students have taken part in a moving tribute to the many servicemen and women who lost their lives in conflict.

Recently, a number of our Year 13 BTEC Business Studies students participated in a walk from King James to Durham, raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support.
