King James I Academy Sixth Form students are celebrating another record-breaking year of success, following A-Level, Applied General and Tech Levels. 100% of students have gained a place at their first-choice university, with students accepted for places at Oxford, Durham and St. Andrew’s universities, including degree courses in Medicine, Psychology and Anthropology.

Whilst results in all subjects were positive, outcomes were particularly strong in Maths, in which all students achieved to or in excess of target grades, History, in which all students achieved at least a B grade, and in Psychology. In creative and vocational courses, results were equally impressive with all students in Media Studies achieving the highest grade possible. Results in Business were also fantastic, with all but one student achieving the highest grade, and results in Art were impressive, continuing a tradition of excellent results in the subject.

Congratulations especially go to Hannah Stewart, who will now go on to study a degree programme in Archaeology and Anthropology at Oxford University, having achieved an A grade in Sociology and History, and a B grade in English. Chloe Wymer achieved a triple distinction* in Sport and will now have a choice of following an apprenticeship at GSK or following a degree programme in Sports Coaching at Durham University. Luke Emmott achieved an A grade in Criminology, and Distinction* grades in Health and Social Care and Psychology. Zoe Munro achieved an A grade in Maths and B grades in Chemistry and Biology and will go on to study Medicine at York. Special note also goes to Nicholas Hope, who will now follow a degree course in Music at Newcastle, and to Anthony Chiang in Year 12, who achieved A grades in Physics, Maths and Further Maths after his first year of Sixth Form study.

The staff at King James would like to congratulate all of our students on the successes they have achieved, and the hard work and dedication they have applied to bring about these fantastic results. Congratulations also go to Mrs Nicholson, Mrs Lobb and the rest of the Sixth Form Team for the support and guidance which they have given to our students so diligently. Anyone interested in joining our successful Sixth Form can contact either Mrs Nicholson or Mr Middleton, with places still available in some subjects from September 2023 onwards.
