This month, we welcomed around 300 primary school pupils to our school as part of Curriculum Week. The fun-packed programme of learning activities is designed to give youngsters a taste of life at King James through a variety of typical taster sessions.

Fifteen students in Years 7 and 8, accompanied by Mr Laybourn, have returned from a fantastic fundraising event at Old Trafford, which saw music and football unite in one of the most iconic stadiums in the UK. The "Manchester Legends Game' raised funds which will go towards Manchester United Foundation's work in the community.

Students in Years 8, 9 and 12 have recently enjoyed an overnight stay in Newcastle and a guided tour of Northumbria University campus as part of our 'Aim Higher' programme.

Sixth Form Media Production students have recently produced cookbooks to promote healthy living and eating amongst children and young people. The creation of the products, which coincided with their media coursework, has given them real-world experience of publishing.

Comic book fans have been celebrating International Comic Book Day 2015 at a special event organised as part of our library programme. The event was supported by members of the Sixth Form Glastonbury Volunteer Team, who dressed up as some of the most iconic comic book characters for the day.
