Learning Media with the BBC Academy

Sixth Form Media Studies students have recently taken part in the BBC Academy’s Digital Cities event, which was held at Teesside University. The event also coincided with one of the campus Open Days which take place throughout the year.

Students in Years 12 and 13 were able to explore the University campus, discuss options with staff and students and take part in some of the Open Day activities before enjoying a seminar and practical workshop in creating special effects for film. This was particularly relevant to our Year 13 students who are currently developing concepts and scripts for a practical fictional film production unit

The event was also useful for those who are considering studying a Media related degree course at University as they were able to see and experience some of the facilities that they would be able to access should they choose to apply to Teesside.
