Sixth Form students turned out in fantastic costumes to support the event.

We have received excellent feedback and many positive comments from families in our local community who joined us at our "Treasure Island' themed Year 6 Open Evening event on September 30th.

Around 400 people attended the pirate-themed event this year, taking part in guided tours, a mass treasure hunt around the Academy buildings, a range of pirate-themed activities and enjoying the opportunity to meet a number of special guests including Professor John Kilcoyne from the TV Science show "Brainiac', former SAFC pro-player, Martin Gray and the Mayor of Bishop Auckland, Cllr. Lee Brownson.

Visitors praised the attitude and communication skills of the many students who volunteered to help out on the night; they were a credit to our school and we would like to thank everyone for their enthusiasm and for their desire to help showcase King James.
