Joanne shows off her first published children's book.

This year, our BTEC Creative Media courses were further developed to include print-based media units alongside our already popular film studies. This allows students to develop additional skills in commercial graphic design, publishing, journalism, promotion and marketing.

Year 13 students, Joanne and Adam have both written and designed their own book as part of their BTEC Level 3 Creative Media Production.

In addition to the books themselves, the pair have produced a range of promotional products including t-shirts, key rings and mouse mats to see how their concept could also be developed as a saleable brand.

Joanne's "Bumbling BeeBee' is the perfect bedtime story book for young children while Adam's comic book, entitled "Dog and Friends', introduces readers to his indecisive, fashion conscious character, "Superdog'. Many of our media students in Years 11, 12 and 13 have also developed skills in journalism and had articles published in recent issues of Exclaimer magazine.
