Three of our Year 10 students, and one of our Sixth Formers and her friends, have climbed Roseberry Topping in North Yorkshire to raise funds for Butterwick Hospice Care.

The fundraiser was organised by Sixth Form student, Jessica B in memory of her cousin Shane who passed away in August 2022 due to a disability he lived with his whole life. This year, Shane would have celebrated his 18th birthday and Jessica wanted to raise funds for Butterwick to acknowledge the support the organisation had given both Shane and his family throughout his life.

In her Just Giving page Jessica said, "Shane was a very loving, positive person despite the hardships he faced on a regular basis and he made an impact on anyone instantly. He lit up every room he was in with his massive smile and the amazing hugs he would give out. I like to believe that Shane would be proud to know that his memory and name has the ability to help raise money for a charity that was so close to his heart."

Jessica climbed Roseberry Topping in costume with her brother, Daniel B and his friends, Codey A and Lukas K, who are all in Year 10. So far, the group have raised £335 but the Just Giving page is still active for anyone who wishes to donate to this very worthy cause.
