Media Studies students in Years 11, 12 and 13 have enjoyed a trip to Whitby Goth Weekend to see the array of creative costumes worn by visitors to the event.

The annual event sees thousands of visitors walking the streets in gothic, horror and steampunk costume, which makes it an excellent opportunity for Media students to get ideas for costume design that they can use in future projects. Many people attend every year and strive to make their costumes both elaborate and unique. Alongside the classic gothic and steampunk costumes, there were great examples of movie characters including Predator, Alien, Pinhead, Pennywise and Freddy Krueger.

Some of the group chose to embrace the theme themselves, wearing make-up and costume to blend with the crowds. This will now become a regular feature on the Media events calendar.
