In glorious July sunshine, an excellent time was had by competitors and spectators alike at our Year Group Sports Day events.

Events took place over a number of days, with students taking part in male and female field events including Shot Putt, Discus, Javelin, Standing Broad Jump and Standing Triple Jump; and track events including 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m and the 4 x 100m relay.

At the Year 7 event, Miss Graham’s form group claimed the trophy with 127 points, beating Miss Thornton and Mrs Lamb’s form groups into second and third place respectively. In Year 8, the winning form group was Miss Houlahan’s, with 118 points overall, and Miss Dixon and Mr Blood’s form groups shared second place with 108 points each.

In the Year 9 competition, Miss Ford’s group took first place with 130 points, followed by Miss Wilkinson and Mrs Binns’ classes in second and third. Finally, the Year 10 title was shared by three form groups, who all ended the event with 84 points. This means that Miss Howard, Mr Saunders and Mr Riley will have to display the trophy in their form classroom for one term each during the next academic year!
