Year 12 students, Tommy and Bradley would now like to develop their knowledge further in a higher level course.

Recently, some of our Sixth Form students have gained a recognised qualification in Emergency First Aid in the Workplace, here at King James.

Delivered by our on-site Health and Safety Officer and fully qualified assessor, Jonathan Page, Sixth Form students were given the opportunity to see the importance of First Aid within a working environment, and gain that qualification for themselves. This involved educational and practical activities throughout the day to ensure our students all got their qualification certificate by the end of it, and we are overjoyed to say that they were all successful.

Here at the academy, we recognise that it is important for young people to have a diverse variety of skills and respected experience in order to stand out from the crowd when taking their next steps after their studies. Whether this be by including it in a university application, or simply using it to enhance their CV, we believe that this First Aid experience will benefit our students immensely going forward and are extremely proud of the outcome.
