To celebrate the end of exams for our Year 11s, and to commemorate their secondary school years at King James, we organised an end of year barbeque.

Students collected their Leavers’ hoodies before enjoying the traditional shirt-signing ritual and speeches from their Heads of Year, Miss Short and Miss Humble. They then settled down to watch the Leavers’ 2023 video on the big screen; this is created each year to let students reflect on their time at King James from Years 7-11. As usual it was met with lots of laughter and some unexpected tears from both students and staff. The grill was manned by students in our Food & Nutrition Department, who rose to the challenge of providing lunch for over 120 hungry students and staff. We are delighted to say that many graduates have chosen to join us in Sixth Form, studying a variety of A’ Level and Level 3 vocational courses.
