Students in our Year 7 Nurture Group have raised £120 thanks to a creative fundraising project, which saw them decorate and plant up a total of 60 made-to-order terracotta pots for Mother’s Day!
The small group of six students had to work extremely hard to fulfil their order book, staying after school to make sure that each hand-painted plant pot was ready on time and decorated according to any special requests.
The initiative was the latest in a number of activities organised by their tutor, Miss Reynolds, who has been working hard since September to create a number of opportunities for the group to build self-confidence and to improve team working skills. “The group have really enjoyed working together on this project,” she said, “and I am so proud of the dedication they have shown. We weren’t expecting to receive as many orders, but the group’s dedication to completing them all has been incredible.”
The money raised will be split equally between Red Nose Day 2017 and Macmillan Cancer Support.
