A group of ten pupils from St Helen Auckland Primary School have attended a special Outreach session at King James called Mini Medics. The course, which is designed to introduce youngsters to life saving techniques, was delivered by our own Health & Safety Officer, Jonathan Page.
As part of the course, pupils learned about the recovery position, how to apply dressings and bandages for a variety of wounds and injuries, and how to perform CPR. Students completed activities in a special Mini Medics book, which they took home with them at the end of the session, along with a certificate to congratulate them on their participation.
Mini Medics is just one of the many Primary Outreach activities that King James offers to our local primary schools; pupils can also enjoy sessions in Drama, Photography, Art, Cooking, Kick Boxing, Trampolining and Filmmaking.
