In Art, Year 12 students have been experimenting with mixed media to create unique backgrounds.
Mixed media is a type of visual art that combines multiple materials or mediums to create a work of art and experimenting in this way is an excellent way to begin A' Level studies and identify strengths and preferences. The materials used can include anything from paint, pencil, charcoal, pastel and crayon, to paper, fabric, cardboard, photographs, found objects and much more.
Some common examples of mixed media artwork include collages, assemblages, and sculptures with mixed media techniques used for art and crafting projects such as scrapbooking, sketchbooks and decorating items such as greeting cards or furniture.
