Year 8 student, Ashton T is enjoying great success in competitive swimming, representing his club, Wear Valley Amateur Swimming Club, which is based in Woodhouse Close Leisure Complex in Bishop Auckland.
Recently, Ashton qualified in the 50m Breaststroke for the North East Regional Swimming Championships; an outstanding achievement for a young person who has only been involved in competitive swimming for two years. Although an excellent all-rounder, Ashton says his strength lies in swimming Breaststroke, and it is for this that he has already amassed two Gold medals and one Silver; however, he has also won a Bronze medal for Backstroke.
Everyone at Wear Valley Amateur Swimming Club is incredibly proud of Ashton’s dedication in training, his focus in competition environments, and his passion for the sport overall. It is a fantastic achievement to compete at regional level within such a short space of time and a reflection of his hard work.
