King James I Academy choir has taken part in the final of the County Durham School Choir Competition which was held at the historic Ushaw College in Durham.
Our choir didn't win on the day, however it was a great experience for our singers to perform in the amazing surroundings of the Ushaw College Chapel. There was very stiff competition from the other choirs and the judges praised King James for the enthusiasm they brought to their performance. The choir also incorporated sign language in their performance, which they learned from one of our English Teachers, Miss Adjei. It was also a great chance for our students to hear other school choirs and to take inspiration from their ideas! The choir showed great spirit throughout the competition and were already planning what to do for next year on the return bus ride!
