Literacy Support is offered to Year 7 students who experience difficulties with reading skills. An after school session is available to help develop basic English skills - reading, writing, spelling and grammar.
At King James I Academy we follow the Renaissance Reading programme in which students are allocated a set amount of time for developing reading skills. A wide range of books can be chosen by students allowing them to develop their reading and comprehension skills.
Students with mathematical difficulties are given in class support to help them devlop their skills. There is an afterschool mathematics club which is aimed at developing basic mathematical skills and understanding in a fun and practical way.
