The annual Primary Tag Rugby Festival was held this week. The festival, organized in partnership with King James 1, the School Sports Partnership and Bishop Auckland Rugby Club, attracted over 100 players. Eight primary schools entered the competition with the hope of winning the event, to progress through to the district final and then the Regional Final.

After some closely fought group matches and semi finals, Tofthill and St. Annes emerged as Festival Finalists. In the group stage the schools had earned a high scoring 6-6 draw against each other.

Both schools showed their intent from the start playing a very expansive game but after the allocated 10 minutes it was St. Annes who were victorious with a well earned 8 - 5 win. Well done to Tofthill and Good Luck to St. Annes at the District Final.
