Welcome to the latest issue of Vision, our Academy magazine.

I’d like to start by congratulating all of our GCSE and A’ Level students for their hard work and fantastic exam results this year.

Having had their courses significantly disrupted by Covid over the past two years, they have worked exceptionally hard to achieve some of our strongest results ever across many subject areas.

I’m delighted that so many of the GCSE students have decided to remain at King James for Sixth Form, and wish those leaving us the very best of luck in whatever they have chosen to do.

As you will see from this issue, we managed to make up for lost time during the summer term at King James; after restrictions were lifted we took every opportunity to get students involved in activities both in and out of school, something we intend to continue in the new academic year, with trips already planned to the Netherlands and various locations within the UK. We also hope to add more international opportunities and want to get as many students as possible involved in these educational experiences.

We were able to welcome both Year 5 and Year 6 students towards the end of the summer term, with our ‘No Wasted Weeks’ program, Transition Week and Summer School providing students with the chance to familiarise themselves with King James before joining us fully in September.

Finally, I would like to thank the parents and community for their ongoing support. We look forward to continuing to work with you in the future to secure the best possible outcomes for KJIA students.

Best wishes,

Simon Whitehead, Headteacher
